Good for a First Timer or Experienced Intermittent Faster

I've tried a number of different diets, many of which worked for a while, but I got really sick of not being able to eat certain foods, having to accept less satisfying substitutes for my high calorie favorites, and just the day in day out monotony of always watching my weight and counting calories. I've been doing intermittent fasting for a while, but I wanted to find out more about the science behind it, and also see if I could pick up any new techniques. One thing that I learned is that the body starts going into the fasting state after about 12 hours without food. I have found that the method of intermittent fasting, or timing the windows when I can eat, vs calorie counting is much easier to do and it's something that I will stick with better. Intermittent fasting has been shown by studies to help control insulin resistance better than caloric restriction. There are also ongoing studies about other potential benefits of intermittent fasting such as better cellular repair and better brain function. Plus it's really easy to do. There's no calories to keep track of, you can just prolong the time between meals or skip meals altogether. There are some people who should not do intermittent fasting. For example, diabetics, pregnant women, and growing children are typically advised not to go on an intermittent fasting diet. It's really good idea to check with your doctor before you start a program just to make sure you don't have any conditions that may make an intermittent fasting not a good idea for you personally. This book explains that you can drink non-caloric drinks during a fasting period. A bit of cream or milk in coffee may be okay, but sugar should be avoided altogether during fasting.. Other than refraining from eating during a fasting time, you can go about your activities as normal. There are several different protocols you can use to implement intermittent fasting. You can choose to eat only during a 4 hour time window, or use an up day down day where you drastically cut calories one day and eat normally the next, and even just not eating all together for 24 hours. I've heard from several friends about intermittent fasting and it's incredible aid in weight loss, but never truly understood how it worked. The mechanics had never been explained to me so I was leary when it came to trying it out for myself. However, after reading this book my mind is completely changed! I'm very excited to try intermittent fasting to aid in my journey to become more fit and take control of my health.
After reading this ebook I now have better understanding about the science of why this method can be a great start to a healthier me and I'm very optimistic about how my outcome will be. Combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise I see no reason why I won't be successful with this method.
The leangains approach seems to be the best start for beginners. In this method, one fasts for 14 hours out of their day, 6 days a week. This would mean only sacrificing breakfast. As the body adapts and becomes familiar with this method, one can graduate to the warrior diet approach where fasting occurs for 20 hours a day every other day for 3 days a week. There are also many other forms of intermittent fasting and I'm very excited to try the different forms to see what works for myself.
As with any diet or weight loss program, one should always do their own research and speak with their doctor. I think with this book people can be well informed enough to make a decision on if this program would fit their lifestyle or not.

I am starting this diet tonight!!

This book is about a popular method of dieting, intermittent fasting. It works with the timing of your body’s digestive system from the point at which you last ate. Author emphasizes one of the benefits of this diet as being better metabolism of food to optimize insulin and blood sugar.
Another benefit is that the diet is very simple to understand. There are very few rules and they are commonly understood; the difference is timing and combinations of these factors. Properly following this program can shed substantial amounts of weight. Many preventive benefits can also be gained through following the Intermittent Fasting program, muscle mass can be optimized, and immunity is increased. It’s very flexible and you will not have to purchase special foods. Even if you are of normal weight, this plan can benefit your health.
I really enjoyed this book as I have tried so many diets with varying rates of success. This seems like a plan I could truly stick with. I think one of the biggest selling points of this plan is that it is said to work without buying expensive special diet meals.
Ultimate Guide is a quick read and you can get started with Intermittent Fasting right away! Just remember that as with any eating plan, it’s wise to consult a doctor before beginning.
